These are probably the most common Italian foods eaten here in the U.S.A. but I'm sure this can be added to and I would say that pretty much everything thats made in Italy has been made here also as there have been a lot of Italian immigrants that have come to our country over the years. Italian Beef Italian Sausage Italian Meatballs Spaghetti w/Spaghetti Sauce Lasagna Chicken or Veal Parmesan Raviolis Italian Dressing Italian bread Italian Bread crumbs are used a lot in cooking and Italian Seasonings like Garlic Oregano etc.. Also Parmesan cheese and Romano cheeses, usually dried/grated

immigrants coming to the u.s
Most people that came to America didn't come on any particular boat. There have been millions of immigrants to the United States over the centuries, and no one boat accounts for "most" of those immigrants.
Yes, the surname Nesci is an Italian last name. The last name occurs in the southern Italian region of Calabria, where Ganino's Cognomi Italiani ("Italian Surnames") website suggests that the origin may have been in the Arabic word nasci for "youth." The pronunciation will be "NEY-shee" in Italian.
Decreased wages for immigrants
Many Americans did not like Italians upon their arrival in the U.S. Mostly Irish people, who had already been in the United States and considered themselves "American", were against Italians and did everything they could to prevent them from succeeding. Due to the fact that Irish immigrants had been in the U.S. so much longer than the Italians, they had worked their way into police and fire department and had become in charge of their surroundings, giving them an advantage over other immigrants. There are still harsh feelings among Irish and Italian people today. I hope I helped answer your question. :)
