The appendix is one of the most important parts of the immune system, new studies have shown that the appendix isn't a useless organ as the name suggest.

The appendix stores a sample of good bacteria to replenish your gut when ill and it also regulates and trains the immune system to recognise friend from foe

Other parts of the immune system are:

the lymphatic organs: lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, & tonsils

andthe lymphatic vessels & capillaries which circulate the lymph fluid around the body
