The Krakow Ghetto Massacre refers to the final ÔliquidationÕ of the Jewish ghetto in the Polish city of Krakow. Deportations from the Ghetto had begun in May 1942; however, the SS killed about 2000 remaining Jews who had been deemed unfit for work on the days of March 13 and March 14,1943.

the Warsaw ghetto was a place, not a time.

It was a place where hundreds of thousands of people were made to live in housing meant for only thousands, they suffered from lack of food, sanitation and medical supplies. They would work for almost slave wages, those who could not get work would be killed in the gas vans, as eventually would all of the inhabitants of the ghetto.

How was Krakow involved in the Holocaust?

Krakow is a major Polish city and came under Nazi rule in 1939. The city had a large Jewish population. In January 1941 the Krakow Jews were forced to live in a ghetto walled off from the rest of the city. Later, the inhabitants of the Krakow Ghetto were transported to Belzec, Plaszow and later to Auschwitz, which is only about 30 miles away.
