No, on both counts. "Neptune Massive" is a fictious rock formation that marks the beginng of "Red Route One," the underwater track taken by Red October, the modified typhoon class submarine that appears in Tom Clancy's Hunt For Red October. It was never described as a trench.

In the movie based on Clancy's book it was called "Neptune Massif" and it was a point along Red Route One not the beginning. The beginning was at Thor's Twins.

What is the meaning of Planet Neptune's name?

Astronomers named Neptune after the Roman God of the deep sea to uphold the tradition of naming planets after mythical figures. The name wasn't only given because the colour of the planet resembles the ocean, the name also fits the planet well because of its position in "deep" space (deep sea - deep space). The symbol for planet Neptune is the Trident (the weapon favoured by the God Neptune). Neptune's largest moon was also named after the Greek God of the sea's son, Triton.

Why was Neptune named after the Roman God of the sea?

When Neptune was discovered by Johann Galle in 1846 , there were several competing names including Janus, Oceanus and Le Verrier's Planet (for the French astronomer who accurately predicted its position in 1845). Using a Roman name matched the European tradition (only Uranus has a Greek name). The name Neptune, for the Roman god of the sea, was finally adopted later in 1846. The bright blue color was only later verified.
