If you have a threaded cap on your coolant reservoir that is your " radiator cap "
it loacted jus underneath the altinator , in a radiator hose
thermo stat is in housing underneath the radiator cap attached to the head
Look where the upper and lower radiator hoses go after they come out of the radiator. There should be a housing on one of the two with 2 or 3 bolts holding it on. Remove the housing and the thermostat should be underneath.
Normally if you follow the top radiator holes to the engine should be right underneath the thermostat housing
The thermostat is located in a housing separate from the engine. It is inline with the lower radiator hose between the radiator and engine on the driver's side.
just underneath the front of the engine follow the right hand pipe from the radiator and you will see the thermostat housing.
The hose leading from the bottum of the radiator (on the drivers side of the radiator) follow ir to the mottr you must unscrew the hose underneath or near the engine block to get the thermostate it can separate into 2 peices If it continues to get complicated just contact me at jermaine81@AOL.com and I'll send you pictures
behind the alternator at the end of the top radiator hose (motor side) underneath the Thermostat Housing.
Follow the upper hose leading out of the radiator, at the other end is the thermostat housing. You can remove the housing with hose still attached, be ready to collect a small amount of coolant underneath the Jeep when you take the housing off.
follow your top radiator hose to the engine block. the hose will be attached to the thermostat housing. the housing is attached to the block with two bolts. remove the radiator hose from the housing, remove the two bolts, and gently separate the housing from the block. you will see the thermostat. The above answer is for a V6 engine. If your engine is a V8, follow the lower radiator hose toward the engine. The thermostat, housing & o-ring are one piece.

Follow the hose coming off of the top drivers side of the radiator. Where it meets with the engine there is a housing attached by 1 bolt and one nut. remove the housing and the thermostat is underneath it.
