Best Answer

Yes, ALS (Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis) is a genetic disorder. It affects the nerve cells involved in voluntary muscle movements.

Mutation in a gene that produces enzymes for neuteralisation of free radicals; causes this disease. The free radicals damage the motor neurons. Treatment for ALS has not been discovered yet.

There is no easy answers to this questions since both dominant and recessive forms have been described. However recessive form is the most common ALS inheritance pattern among the different mutations responsible for the disease.

It's related to penguins, and horses. And cats die from it but dogs are immune and so you should get a dog.

Scientists still have not figured out if ALS is a genetic disorder or it if it just happens randomly. I took honors life science i high school and i think that it is a genetic disorder.

What is dominant recessive?

There is dominant and there is recessive. There is no dominant recessive. A dominant gene will always be expressed when present, such as in the homozygous dominant genotype (RR), or heterozygous genotype (Rr). A recessive allele is only expressed when the genotype is homozygous recessive (rr).

Is vulcan dominant or recessive?

The Vulcan is the dominant expression. The earthling sign is recessive.

Which form of gene pair is expressed when both dominant and recessive are present?

If the gene is governed by a dominant and recessive allele, then if the dominant allele is present, the dominant trait will be expressed. If both alleles are recessive, then the recessive trait will be expressed.

What is the different between dominant and recessive?

Dominant trait is the one which is expressed when the homologous pair of genes controlling it are either homozygous or Hetrozygous dominant; on the other hand recessive trait has both genes to be homozygous recessive. in fact trait is controlled by the form of genes. Dominant gene expresses even when it is in the company of recessive gene. However recessive gene expresses only when in company of recessive gene

What is the difference between homzyguos and heterozyous?

Homozygous recessive: is when the genes are both recessive Homozygous dominant: is when the genes are both dominant (traits show) Heterozygous dominant: is when one gene is dominant and one is recessive (traits show) Heterozygous recessive: is the same as heterozygous dominant but the dominant genes are inactive
