Best Answer

In many respects it is morally neutral.

From one point of view, it is simply the creation of another life or the imitation of, something that happens on a regular basis naturally. In fact, the act of procreation itself is morally neutral. Imitation of a natural phenomena is hardly unethical either, else many buildings (dams) and technologies (web [internet]) would be morally wrong.

Many religions find the concept abhorrent due to the idea that cloning is encroaching upon the territory of their deity.

Cloning itself is a tool, a process and as such has no moral leaning. It can be 'right' or 'wrong'.

No we do not need to, we just want to. Cloning technology holds the key to solving a lot of the world's problems that might not otherwise be fixable. If you want a cure in the near future for lots of diseases like Parkinsons, cancer, etc, then yes we really need to study cloning.

What is the test to show that a test-tube of gas contains carbon dioxide?

I'm not sure if it's an official test, but you could take a lit match and put it in the test tube (keeping the test tube right side up). If the test tube does contain carbon dioxide the match would be smothered since the carbon dioxide prevents oxygen from reaching the match.
