Yes, horses and ponies are unpredictable, easily spooked, and big. And when you have a large, unpredictable spooky animal, you are going to get danger. However, with the right precautions, you can greatly decrease the chance of being injured.

All feral/wild ponies and horses have the potential to be dangerous. They are wild, not accustomed to human touch and when they do become accustomed, they become more aggressive towards humans than what they see as being aggressive to us humans. They are particularly dangerous to those who have no clue about horse psychology or behaviour nor any idea how to act or treat any horse, be it domesticated or wild.
