Everywhere! A little...To varying degrees (and mostly not very large), everywhere in the world! Although most of the world runs on fossil fuels, people in all corners of the world use renewable energy sources to some extent.

mainly farms

renewable energy is applicable to specific states that are included in the new deregulation law of the US Energy Department. For more information on incentives and rebates you can get from the US Government in turning your electricity to renewable energy please visit our website. (see related links)

Solar energy (energy from the sun) for example, is considered a renewable energy resource, but it is not technically truly renewable, as the sun will eventually run out. So some renewable energy resources aren't actually "renewable" in the strictest sense of the word.

However, the sun is expected to last another several billion years, and it's pouring out the energy whether we bother to use it or not, so whether it's technically renewable or not is a minor quibble.

A renewable energy source is one in which we are able to rebuild the source quickly. Corn based Ethanol is considered a renewable energy source.

There are also alternative energy sources that collect energy from our sun in the form of direct sunlight or the effects, through wind. Solar Voltaic and Wind produce less energy then the equipment that they use to generate the power costs to create, so they are not true energy sources in the strictest sense of the word. They are awesome for use in boats where wind is plentiful or on spacecraft where connections to real power sources are not possible. Extremist groups are pushing these power sources anyway in the hope that someday they will be able to provide real energy.

The next group is alternative energies that actually produce power. These include geothermal and hydroelectric. They use natural flows and energy stored within our planet. They produce real power and are environmentally much better then wind and solar.

Nuclear is the top dog as far as true and clean power that we could be using. It produces very little real waste and is extremely environmentally friendly. In terms if actual fuel a nuclear powered carrier uses roughly a dime sized piece of fuel for twenty years of operation. Extreme groups have managed to create issues with waste from these sites by making laws so tight that water leaving the power plants in some countries must be 10 times cleaner then the water entering it. Most modern countries get large portion of their power from this form of energy. The U.S.A. is an exception there.

It depends on how the electricity is produced. A coal burning electrical plant is not renewable energy, whereas a hydroelectric power plant or windmill do generate renewable power.

How Is renewable energy harmful?

Renewable energy is not really harmful in any way. When it is turned into electricity it can kill you, like all electricity.

How can you sell renewable energy such as electricity?

Electricity from renewable resources is just the same electricity. It is fed into the electricity grid and sold to householders as usual.

How much electricity comes from renewable sources at present?

Around 20% of world electricity is from renewable energy in 2009. More than 80% of the renewable energy use is hydroelectric which had a lot of installation limit. Progress on renewable energy is rather slow to the energy crisis.

Is electricity renewable and why?

Electricity is not renewable. It is a energy transmission method. The source it comes from may be. Wind power, etc is renewable. Oil, coal etc is not.

Is mechanical energy is a renewable energy?

Not in the literal sense of the words "Mechanical Energy". It depends on the source of the mechanical energy. If the source is renewable, like solar or wind generated electricity, then the mechanical energy is renewable. If the source is non-renewable, like electricity from burning oil, then it is non-renewable.

Is electrical energy renewable or non renewable?

The most popular renewable energy sources currently are: Solar energy. Wind energy. Hydro energy. Tidal energy. Geothermal energy. Biomass energy.

How is renewable energy used?

Renewable energy is energy, usually electricity, generated from wind, solar, water, geothermal and other renewable resources. The electricity is used to power businesses, machinery and appliances in most countries round the world.

What is the uses of renewable energy?

It is used to generate electricity, without the carbon dioxide emissions of non-renewable energy.

Why is electricity a good form of energy?

Because it is renewable

What does Australia use wind energy for?

Wind energy is harnessed to produce renewable electricity. This replaces non-renewable electricity from greenhouse-gas-polluting fossil fuel power stations.
