....really? Percocet is a mixture of two different active ingredients. Oxycodone and Tylenol. Tylenol is also known as acetaminophen. So there is already acetaminophen in percocet. There is no reason to take MORE Tylenol. However, if you really feel the need it won't hurt to take a Tylenol or two with your prescription. You need to be careful though, too much Tylenol is known to cause liver damage. Keep it reasonable and you will be fine.

Percocet contains Tylenol - the 2 numbers of the dosage indicate the amount of oxycodone and tylenol combination of the dose.

For example, if you're using Percocet 10/325's, the amount of oxycodone would be 10mg, and the Tylenol amount would be 325mg. The Tylenol amounts usually come in 325mg or 650mg.

You can take regular Tylenol with them to augment the dose (you always want to ask for a lower dose Tylenol content for Percocet so you don't take too much), but you want to keep track of your overall daily dosage so you don't take more than the recommended amount of Tylenol. They just dropped the daily dosage total from 4g to 3g total per day, so however you take it, make sure you don't exceed 3 grams per day.

No need. Percocet has Tylenol in it already. Taking Percocet and Tylenol together has the potential for dangerous affects on your liver due to acute acetaminophen toxicity.

Can you take percocet and Advil together?

While Percoset and Ibuprofen have no interaction (meaning you can take them together), it is not advised, as the combination is quite hard on the stomach lining. A good way to avoid this is to not take them together, but if you have to, do it with food.

Can you take Percocet while on antibiotics?

Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone and Tylenol, so yes, you can take Tylenol with an antibiotic. However, depending on the Tylenol component in your Percocet dosage ( the second number in the dose, e.g. in a dose of 10/325, 325 is the Tylenol dose) you might already be getting a high dose anyway. Percocet dosages have up to 750mg of Tylenol, so adding anymore could make you sick or exceed daily dosage limits for Tylenol. Check your Percocet dosage to see how much Tylenol you're getting, then check the Tylenol box to see what the maximum daily dose is for your age. That'll give you an idea of whether or not you can take any more, and how much.

How far apart to take percocet if took Tylenol?

6 to 8 hours. Percocet is much stronger than Tylenol. Do not take them too close together because of drowsiness and such. You won't overdose but you may get a bit sick.

Can Percocet be taken while pregnant?

Percocet has Tylenol and narcotic. Generally, Tylenol is safe during pregnancy. Narcotic is also safe except near labor because the respiratory depression can pass on to the newborn and may result in additional needed interventions to stimulate the newborn to breath. Therefore, unless you really have to, just stick to plain acetaminophen (Tylenol.)
