In general, pearl earrings at department stores are cheaper than those at jewelry stores. Because department stores sell a variety of products, they make money off of more transactions than a jewelry store. A jewelry store would have a better variety, however.

If you still insist on diamonds, I would suggest buying them used on ebay, amazon, or another online retailer that does not use a middleman. Don't buy from a department store or jewelry store if you want a good price.
