It is not recommended that you use an outdoor tanning lotion in a tanning bed. Several reasons apply. First of all, a lot of outdoor tanning lotions contain oils which can damage acrylics. Second, indoor tanning lotions are specifically designed to put the vitamins and minerals depleted during sun exposure back into your skin, an effort to prevent pre-mature aging and other less than beautiful side effects of tanning. Finally, in order to get optimal results from tanning in a controlled environment than you need to use something designed to quickly activate melanin production - intensifying your ability to tan in a rapid session. Some tanning lotions, most of the Designer Skin line, are designed for use indoors and outdoors. This would be the way to go if you are looking for a lotion that you can use successfully in both settings.

It really depends on your skin tone. If you have a light skin tone it will take longer but if you have a kinda already dark skin tone it wont take that long

Light Skin Tone- 200 minutes or 2 months

Dark Skin Tone- 100 minutes or 1 month

or if you buy the tanning lotions they have at the salons you will on need to go tanning like, 10 times to get a tan.

Your tan will take about 24 hours to develop once you leave the tanning bed, so really it wouldn't be good for your skin to tan indoors then go tan outdoors until after the 24 hours it takes your tan to develop.

I have noticed though that if you are burned from a tanning bed, it shows up within 5 hours and heals itself (as long as it isn't severe) within 20 hours of when you leave a tanning bed. So if you are set on going outside, wait at least 5 hours to be sure you haven't been burned from indoor tanning.

Nope! Tanning lotions work by being activated by UV light, so whether your indoor tanning or outdoor tanning, you can still use a tanning lotion. WHen tanning in a uv bed do you have to use tanning lotion?

You don't necessarily have to use a tanning lotion, however many will highly recommend it. Tanning lotions help you to get a darker color faster, plus if you go in a tanning bed with dry skin, 60% of the rays are bouncing off of you, so that's money wasted. On top of that tanning lotions have a lot of vitamins and minerals that help prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

What lotion harms your tanning bed?

Tanning beds mainly use a group of flourescent bulbs in order to create a wave of ultraviolet rays to tan a person's skin. You will find Tanning beds mainly in tanning salons and they are different from sunlight tanning. It is always secure to use a tanning bed in which the special tanning lotion has been applied which is made only for tanning beds with proper gears. So it is always best to use those taning lotions. Apart from those may cause harm. Hope this helps.

How long to stay in a tanning bed without lotion?

You shouldn't ever go into a tanning bed without lotion. You won't tan nearly as fast and you age your skin 10x faster and you'll burn more easily. If you aren't going to use lotion, I'd say don't tan at all.
