There are different types of fertilizers, and some ways of replenishing nutrients to the soil are much better than others for the growth and nutrition of the plants and for the environment. One type of fertilizer is synthetic. These are the N-P-K fertilizers that only replenish the nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium, but not other nutrients and micro-nutrients that plants need. They may contain ingredients that pollute the environment. Another way to replenish nutrients and to develop good soil generally is to add compost and natural materials to the soil. This not only builds up the soil and replenishes the micro-nutrients as well as nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and other nutrients, but is safe for the environment.

So, fertilizer may be considered bad because it does not replenish all the nutrients and micro-nutrients that plants need and it may pollute the environment.

although fertilizers can be bad for the environment they are over all very good for the grower. because fertilizers can work so efficiently at growing crops they can deliver a greater output of crops and therefore creating more money for the seller. all of the bad things that many other answers talk about happen over a long period fo time and can be easily prevented if you use earth friendly fertilizers and do not use them before a wet period.

Since it is derived from natural substances, it cannot be bad. However it takes a bit longer for the plant to use it as it has to first break down. That is the advantage of chemical fertilizers; they can be used right away by the plant.

To an extent it is bad. Then what is to an extent, Inorganic farming or intensive farming can fed to masses, even though it is harmful to nature kills environment and a slow poison to humans. So, in order to control on inorganic farming three things has to be done.

01. Go for population control

02. Give incentive to farmers who do organic farming.

03. Develop seeds which can grow in shorter period, without any genetically modified, so that the farmer can use seeds from their own yield.

When there is more supply through organic farming then the rate comes down in equal to inorganic farming.
