well, I know that you can prevent it and stuff, but I'm not sure whether once you've got it you can actually stop it.

No, but there are lots of treatments for the disease that are exremely effective, such as surgery.

No there is no cure, assuming you are referring to a person who is experiencing high cholesterol (total cholesterol > or = 240 mg/dL). It can be maintained at a normal level through a healthy lifestyle (exercise and diet) possibly combined with medication. In some individuals, ceasing efforts to maintain cholesterol levels unfortunately can result in the reversal of the desirable level (<200 mg/dL).

some of them like hypertension, coronary Heart disease, arrhythmias and angina (chest pain) can be cured efficiently with atenolol mediciation. It is also used to treat and reduce the risk of heart complications following myocardial infarction (heart attack).
