Which Greek god did Thebans worship?

It's never really discussed, but I imagine that they had altars to Athena (since Cadmus, the city's founder was going to make a sacrifice to her when he founded the city), Ares (since the site of the city's water was protected by a great serpent sacred to Ares) and Aphrodite (since Cadmus married Harmonia, the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite).

So that makes Zeus Cadmus' great great great great great uncle, and Oedipus Zeus' great great great great great nephew.
