They have similar meanings, but not so similar as to be synonymous. A mishap is an unfortunate event or misfortune, which might be caused by a person, might be caused by a natural event, or might be caused by anything. A blunder is a terrible mistake; it is always made by a person. Only people are normally thought to blunder, because only we have the intelligence to know better than to do those things which we describe as blunders. If a mouse does something stupid, well, it's just a mouse anyway. So, while a blunder is also a mishap, not all mishaps are blunders.
