No. Walnuts and peanuts are two different types of nuts. They look different and have different tastes. A peanut is not technically a nut, but a legume. So it belongs to the same family that beans and lentils are in.

i was told by my grandmother that it is in fact a Legume but my health teacher in 5th grade said, "what do you think, Pea-NUT"
