They state what the students are expected to learn (objectives), how they are going to learn it, and the expected outcomes. A lesson plan is not one day, but for a week and each day builds on the next day so there is a progression of learning. When looking a month of lesson plans the reader should be able to see the goal of the teacher and how the students learn what they are taught.
