'Pokemon' is a multi-platform franchise of games. The main series games are exclusively released on handheld consoles, such as the Game Boy, and the DS. There are many spin-off titles for handhelds, but also for non handheld consoles too, such as the Gamecube and Wii. While there are no 3DS Pokemon games out at the moment, it can be assumed some will be released in the future.
