yes Nanotechnology does come under the mechanical engineering field but it also has other fields as the eligibility criteria.

There is an old joke: "What's the difference between civil and mechanical engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons -- civil engineers build targets." Yuck yuck. In reality civil engineering involves the design and construction of buildings, roadways, bridges, railroads, water supply, drainage, and sewers. Sometimes this is referred to as "infrastructure" Usually these are larger things that have a long service life. Mechanical engineering deals with machinery -- automobiles, trucks, machine tools, engines, pumps, and things of that nature -- including weapons. Typically it involves shorter service life, smaller size (although there are some Really Big machines out there!) and more precision.
Computer Engineering is the science of programming. Mechanical Engineering is a wide field that covers subjects from material properties (used in everything from developing chips to earth-moving machines). A typical Mechanical Engineer will have a variety of skills that envolve "dynamics", "statics", and a lot of other fun stuff. However, to know how to program things that involve Mechanical Engineering, you would need to know a fair amount of the subject. Knowing how to program something without knowing how it works would need...at best an interprerter. I have an electronic, electrical, and chemical background; however I know how to program a lot of things and have a few computer languages under my belt. My experience is that to know the real world around you and knowing some languages is a lot more helpful than just programming. Of course, I am a little biased, but if you see my logic, you can see that knowing Engineering helps you to understand the world around you and you become a much more effective programmer or Systems manager. Life is difficult, Love difficult.

Mechanical Engineering is considered by some to be the broadest of engineering disciplines. Not only do many areas fall under mechanical engineering, it overlaps into other engineering disciplines, including Civil, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering
Some major fields of study under engineering are as follows. * Electrical engineering * Electronics engineering * Chemical engineering * Mechanical engineering * Engineering management * Architectural engineering * Civil engineering
It falls under physics along with gravity.
By wht group, what exactly are you trying to mean. if in engineering it comes under electronic engineering.
Not too good
they are claiming that its comes under 100, but believe me its nowhere exists even top 500.

Manufacture of different parts of the computer and its assembly is computer engineering and application and operation of computer comes under computer science.
This that can be saved for energy when needed. Example- food. In mechanical engineering a good example is a spring under tension or a pendulum at the end of it's swing.
software engineering comes under the category of computer science or information technology. To become one either you need to to btech in IT or CSE OR MCA OR diploma from a good institute .
