Your question hints that you know this, so enough said on that :) But anyway, the original books are hard back, and I haven't seen Identity Theft in hardback, only paper back. Also, it did only come out in 2008, and many of the books were written long ago, the first book, The Secret of the Old Clock, being published in 1930. So as far as I can tell, I would say that Identity Theft isn't one of the originals.
