Green Day is definitely not Christian. Billie Joe has said in many interview he is not Christian. However, Jesus of Suburbia, East Jesus Nowhere, and Christian's Inferno are not about Christianity.

Jesus of Suburbia is about a kid who comes out of little town and gets big.

East Jesus Nowhere is about the hipocrisy of religion in general. In other words, how people don't always follow there own religion. This often applies to Christianity but this song is not only about Christianity, and definitely doesn't say he is not a Christian

Christian's Inferno is about someone NAMED CHRISTIAN. He is rejected by society and starts using drugs.

No, Green Day is a rock group. They are actually not terribly fond of modern organized Christianity. And some Christians don't seem to like them much either. There were Xtian protesters at the last couple GD shows I went to.

In fact, some of their music is has things in them that are things Christians wouldn't listen too.

NO!! If anything Green Day is anti-Christian. One of Green Day's main themes in their lyrics is how they believe religion in general, and especially Christianity is a joke, a device to enslave and control the masses. Not to mention the amount of profanity and drug references in their lyrics. Not to say that it's not good music, but as far as being Christian, no, not even close.

Because from what i have read and from my knowledge they are. yes ok they my have a great amount of profanity and drug references in their lyrics, but also don't forget about KISS. yes kiss because Jean Simmons dad is a pastor and Jean was going to a bible collage but then he got caught up in the music business.and now look where he is?? and same with the bands Insane Clown Posse, U2, Finch(well their members are), Cartel, The Parachute, and Hedley.

It depends which Green Day you mean; Green Day is a festival that marks the start of Lent in Cyprus, so it's clearly a Christian festival - at least nowadays.

Green Day is also a band, so we have no way of knowing if the question means the band or "Green Day", as in trying to raise awareness...

If you were referring to the band, they have no songs I'm aware of that are anti-Christain, but at a concert of theirs I went to, a nine-year-old was "Lifted up to Him", which I highly doubt was a true religious ceremony.
