Cyprus has been a Republic since gaining Independence from Britain in 1960, with it's own President who is elected every four years.
The breakaway Northern sector, which was formed following the Turkish invasion of 1974, declared itself to be a Republic in 1983, although it is not recognised by any nation apart from Turkey itself (which created it in the first place).
