I remember two interesting things, such as how he was the son of the 2nd President of the United States, and he enjoyed swimming is known for the legendary story of leaving his clothes on a bush while in a lake, and when he came back his clothes were gone, so he called for a boy who walked by to run to the white house and fetch him some clothes

John was the second of five children, he also was an essayist, writing the 'Letter's of Publicola', (it was a response to Thomas Jefferson's approval of Thomas Paine's "Rights of Man"). Publicola in Latin means 'friend of the people', all in all he wrote eleven letters under this pseudonym. While Thomas Paine wrote that the British people should have a revolt much like the French Revolution, Adams wrote against it "like his father, the son warned that passion, not reason, was the source of individual and group political behavior." He became President of the United States, not by winning the election, but by the Constitutional requirement that if no candidate had a majority of the electoral vote the House of Representatives would pick the President. The election was between Andrew Jackson (Democrat), Henry Clay (Whig Party) and John Quincy Adams (No Party, formerly a Federalist). In the end Clay put his support behind John which gave him the Presidency.
