I feel there are at least 3 crucial events in the Passion of Christ:

When Jesus is tempted in the Garden the night before He is taken. This is a crucial time and a test for Jesus that He must pass. He must not be tempted to not go through with what was to happen soon - His crucifixtion and death. I think this showed a side of Jesus some don't think about, which is His human side of fear. It is a lot to take in that you must accept your fate and know that it will be a dark, hurtful, a pain beyond all pain and that evil will triumph for a time because of this though evil loses in the end because of this. He passed the test and He knew He was worthy of the sacrifice and worthy of His father.

The crucifixtion is a crucial time because not only of Jesus letting this happen but of all His people, like His mother, watching this and knowing that it MUST happen in order to save all of us. I find that I admire, respect and love Mary, his mother so very much for knowing all this would happen and letting it go because her son told her it must. Her faith is so overwhelming to me and humbling in many ways.

The time when the soldiers came to take Jesus was a crucial time for the disciples needed to NOT interfere though they tried. When one of them hacked off the ear of a soldier and Jesus said STOP, you must not, and he healed it - I believe that showed a crucial thing to His disciples about faith and obeying God even when you don't understand. Even when you know what is to happen and you must not interfere - it was crucial for them to watch and wait because the resurrection would come.
