first remove the door panel (don't forget electrical switches and 2 bolts as well as all the plastic clips) and the plastic weather cover.
locate the motor and remove its cover by unscrewing the 4 retainer bolts (using a torx T20 screw driver). This cover has the magnets in it.
now you will see the armature of the motor, this component has a gear on it that raises or lowers the window.
with one hand push up on the base of the window assembly and with the other turn the armature counter clockwise.
This is a slow process, but will get your window up.
if you don't push up enough on the base of the window enough, the armature will 'unscrew' from its 'gearbox'. to get it back in you screw it the opposite way, being careful to move the 2 brushes out of the way (spring loaded brushes can be held out of the way by pulling back on the small connecting wire).
good luck.
How do yo fix a stuck driver side electric window on a 1998 pontiac firebird.
I just bought a Pontiac Montana 2004 and dont know how to close the rear windows
Two common culprits are found to be the cause of electric window problems with a Ford Focus. The first is that the power window motor has burned out. The second is the window coming off track.
In order to replace the electric window motors on a Pontiac Grand Prix you will need to unscrew the Torx screws on the door, life it back to remove the plastic pieces. Remove all connectors, and the plastic covers.
windshield trim loose and Pontiac issued a bulletin for right side window trim.
More than likely your motor for your window is worn out and needs to be replaced, happened to me . Easy enough to fix. good luck
With soap and water, or a window cleaning product. Alternatively, you can drive through a car wash.
turn bolts to the left, install regulator, turn bolts to the right
Get a wire tester and start at the window motor. If it has electricity going to the motor, then the motor is burned out. No electricity, follow the wire to the switch (and so on).
you prolly need a new window motor... check a local junkyard.
had the same problem with 2002 montana. Removed master control switch and cleaned up electrical connections. Worked fine ever since.
Probably have a window leak. Once totally dried out it should be o/k
