Hindus believe that when they die their body disintegrates but their soul is eternal and thus enters another body. They believe that the migration of soul from a dead body to a new body is reincarnation.

Most Hindus fail to understand the symbolic meaning of reincarnation.

Reincarnation has nothing to do with life and death.

To understand reincarnation we must know the seven basic forces we are endowed with.

They are,

1. Dreaming force - Indra

2. Illusory force - Shakti

3. Voluntary force - Brahma

4. Semi voluntary force - Vishnu

5. Involuntary force - Shiva

6. Status altering force - Shani

7. Compulsive force - Yama

It is very obvious that of the seven gods only Vishnu reincarnates. No other god can incarnate. The reason is the unique nature of the Semi voluntary force.

The suitability of the Semi voluntary force to change life:

Since the Semi voluntary force is made of two forces it is ideally suited to change our life completely. Using the voluntary component of the Semi voluntary force we can pretend that we have changed our life completely. If the changed life is acceptable to others we can make the change involuntary and thus permanent. If it is not acceptable we can reduce the change until it is accepted.

After some months or years we can use a different tone and repeat the process again. We can repeat this many times.

Vishnu and Incarnations:

The various incarnations of Vishnu gives as an idea of how our life would change if we keep changing the tone of our body muscles. Even after he incarnates many times his basic nature continues to be the same and he continues to be the preserver.

Changing our life the reincarnation way:

Even if we change our life many times, our inner life continues to be the same. It is only the life that is visible to others that keeps changing.

Thus, reincarnation is nothing but changing our apparent life without changing our actual life.
