No, you do not bite it back because it will bite you again. All you have to do is say "no" loudly and put something in his mouth he can bite. If he did this out of aggression, STOP ANNOYING HIM!!!! Never hit a dog, ever, ever, ever, ever, no matter how mad you are. First of all, you might hurt your hand, and second he will attack so fiercely, even the most tolerant of dogs might bite really hard when faced with an abusive situation.
One thing-the dog may have bitten out of aggression because of instinct and/or self-defense because he/she was in an abused house before you got him/her.
