Sometime in the next 5 weeks. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I have examined women with a closed uneffaced cervix and they have had the baby 2 hours later (it happened to me) and others in your position who go another 3-4 weeks. You are in labor. But You mean full blown labor. And that depends on your body and your babys hormones. Most likely within the next week. The best way to encourage full labor is to walk, walk, walk, and be sure to drink lots of water so you stay hydrated. If you are having false pains the walking will make them go away. Mom of five
I would say........ SOON! I know when I was pregnant I felt like it would take forever! I thought I would always be pregnant and when the Dr. told me I was fully effaced (which just means thinned out) and 3cm dialated I got so excited! I knew it would be SO SOON! I went four days after finding out this tid bit of information before I went into labor. Good luck! Pam Yes it's a great sign that when you do go into true labor,it may not be terribly long and drawn out as a lot of the work is already done ( just the other 7 or so cm dilation to go!).On the other hand , you can go from being not very far dilated or effaced in a matter of minutes,so never be disheartened by what staff tell you.
My doc says that for first time moms there is no way to tell. Some people stay that way for weeks and some people go within a week from when they are 70% to 80% effaced but it is very good to be getting this much pre-work done - it means you'll probably have a better labor.
Same situation here! But just to let you know hun, it may be tomar, a week, or all the till your 40 weeks, and have to be induced. Every womens body is different. I have been effaced, and dilated since 30 weeks, and here I am 2 and 80 at 36...Hang in there! It maybe a lot longer.

Yes. Every pregnancy gets faster than the last one so you should get to the hospital or call your midwife.
You shouldn't be having sex when you are dilated and or after 9 months pregnant. It could be dangerous to the unborn child. As for your question, It probably could bring on labor.
Especially if this is your first pregnancy, your body could take an unpredictable amount of time to get ready for labor. Generally, loss of the mucus plug means labor will start soon, but it could still be several days or more. It is not uncommon for a woman to be 2cm dilated for at least a few weeks at the end of pregnancy.
You don't have to be effaced or dilated to go into labor. But this could mean u will be waiting for the bundle of joy little longer! Good luck!
you can be dilated for months before you actually go into labor.
== == Theoretically, as long as you are past the point where the fetus is viable, active labor can begin any time in any pregnancy, no matter how much you are dilated or effaced. This means you could go into active labor in four minutes, four days, four weeks, etc. There's really no way to tell.
time will tell could be today, tomorrow, or 2wks
If your contractions are three min. apart then you probably already are in labor especially if you are already dilated and 80% effaced. If the contractions aren't regular then you aren't in labor but if it turns out that your not then you will most likely be going into labor really soon.
The onset of labor can be determined by measuring how much the cervix has dilated.
you would be in labor. not hard labor, but still labor. Everyone is going to progress at different rates from this point for some women it will be an hour or two and for some women it could be days or even a week or two. Every pregnancy in every woman will be different.
No-one can tell, you may go into labor tonight or you may go another 2 weeks.
