It's great that there's no blood in your stool, but many patients can have colon cancer or precancerous colon lesions without having a positive guaiac test. Because so many cases are missed by the test for hidden blood in the stool, colonoscopy makes sense.

Hello, Kaushal. I'm ?

Hello, Kaushal. I'm sorry your brother is ill. From what you've told me, it sounds appropriate and necessary for him to undergo a colonoscopy. This is the best way to diagnose and treat the source of blood passing with stool. While it may seem that he is bleeding more with the prep (the liquid that cleans him out), it's more likely that the blood that is already present is being flushed out more quickly with the prep. There are other ways to see bleeding in the colon, but they are not as specific and cannot treat the cause of the bleeding. His doctors will closely monitor his symptoms and blood counts during the preparation and will watch him carefully during his procedure. He may need some extra fluids through an IV or even a blood transfusion. If the source of bleeding is not found during the colonoscopy, they may recommend an upper endoscopy, which examines the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine (they would probably do this right after the colonoscopy).

Would you poop blood if you are pregnant?

The only reason there should be any blood is if you're extremely constipated and tear the rectum a bit. Constipation is very common in pregnancy and can usually be treated with fiber. If you're actually passing blood or have blood in the stool, it can be either black or bright red depending on if it comes from above or below your intestines, you need to see your doctor as soon as possible. Bloody stool can mean a lot of different problems and your doctor needs to run tests to find out what's wrong.

If your poop is black you might have something wrong with you and you need to see a docto?

If your BM is black it is a sign of dark blood and a sign of upper GI bleeding (as opposed to bright red blood from lower GI / rectal bleeding). It can be caused by peptic (stomach) ulcer disease, & hemorrhagic blood diseases. "False" Black stool (no blood, just a dark color) can also be caused by certain medications but I think that is rare. You should seek prompt treatment by calling your doctor to rule out a medical emergency.
