I am also wondering about this question. someone please help.

answer is yes. If you go to www.immigrationdirect.com it'll explain everything. There is also currently something called a touchback. If an immigrant from Mexico comes here undocumented and has children and a wife here they have to gol back to Mexico but they'll be granted a greencard and eventually a residence. Hope this helps !

I really don't think so. Considering both of you (friends, etc.) are illegal, there's really no way to become a permanent resident, unless you have a brother, sister, or parent that's a citizen or a green card holder that'll file the I-130 Petition for Alien Relatives. Sorry if that wasn't of any use.

yes, they can apply for a green card any time realy. the problem is that it helps to know someone here who can sponsor them with $$$ to get them to apply. that pretty much says that they will watch out for them, and that the government knows where to find the resident. this is how my cousins came to america.

If a United States Citizen marries in the United States in January 2009 to an immigrant from the Philippines is she now considered to be a United States Citizen?

No, she is not. She will be allowed to remain in the US with her spouse and children, but she will have to apply for citizenship separate from her marriage. The US citizen REMAINS a US citizen. The immigrant remains an immigrant and must follow the legal path to resident immigrant status, and from there to citizenship. Marriage is not a free pass to residency or citizenship.

The child is automatically a U.S. citizen. I am a U.S. citizen and my husband is an illegal Mexican alien and we have two kids. Our children are U.S. citizens. As long as a chid is born in the U.S. they are citizens.
