If America went all out, America would win. However the people in America do not want war. There would be an uproar if we went into a full war sending all our troops to Iran. If just the current amount of troops that are in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, etc. went in it would be another story. FINAL ANSWER: if America went in full on it would be America on top.

Israel and Syria have fought each other in several wars and skirmishes, notably in the Middle East wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973. In all three cases, Israel defeated Syria. This was despite the fact that Syria had strong allies including Egypt and Jordan, which surrounded Israel on essentially all sides.

While Syria has a larger standing army, Israel has larger reserves and more sophisticated military hardware and intelligence services. Israel also has an advantage by holding the Golan Heights, a high mountainous plateau overlooking key areas of Syria. In an all-out conventional war without the intervention of other forces, Israel would likely win handily.

What country is north Israel?

There is no country called North Israel, there is just one Israel. If you intended to ask what country is north of Israel, the answer is Lebanon and Syria. The Mediterranean Sea is north of Israel. Greece or Turkey are north, but separated by the sea.

What area is disputed by Israel and Syria?

The disputed territory is a de jure Syrian territory under de facto Israeli Occupation and Civil Administration: the Golan Heights. The Golan Heights are a Syrian Mountain Range and hill-country just north of western Jordan. This territory is small, but strategic, giving Israel a position where Syria cannot take military advantage of it. Currently, UNDOF monitors the border between the Golan Heights and Syria.

What can you do in Syria?

I recently went to Syria and it was great. Some sights to see are: Palmyra, Alleppo, and of course Damascues. Oh, and definitely shop in the souks (market places). Whats great about Syria is that you can go to surrounding countries like Jordan, Israel, Egypt, and Lebanon. We just went to Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. Syria is a beautiful country, and you will enjoy your time there.

What countries that border Israel want to keep a neutral relationship?

Jordan and Egypt made peace with Israel, but Lebanon and Syria also have no interest in just antagonizing Israel anymore, since Israel is much more militarily capable than either of those two countries.

How is bombing Syria in favor of Israel?

Answer 1It could go either way. One the one hand, it would send a clear message that non-conventional weapons will not be tolerated. On the other hand, it could be used by terrorist or militant groups to fire missiles at Israel.Answer 2Bombing Syria has nothing to do with Israel. The United States does carry out some activities and policies that have no connection with Israel, you know.Unfortunately, though, WHATEVER happens in Syria cannot be good for Israel.Do you remember back to the Gulf War in 1991 ? That was a war waged by a coalition force from 34 nations, authorized by the United Nations and led by the United States against Iraq, in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. When the coalition's forces entered Kuwait and began to drive the Iraqis back, missiles began to rain down on Israel, which just goes to show the kind of reasoning and mental processes that go on among some in that part of the world.Answer 3Bombing Syria is not in Israel's favor. The Syrian Civil War will not naturally escalate beyond the borders of Syria. The Israeli-Syrian border and the Turkish-Syrian border are well patrolled. However, if the US bombs Syria, it has the potential to expand the war. Iran has threatened that if the US attacks Syria (which is an Iranian proxy), Iran will respond by targetting Israel with conventional missiles (since Israel is an American proxy according to the Iranians).Answer 4The answer is yes and no Bombing Syria is in favor of Israel in that it may result in:Destroying the Syria's capacity to attack Israel at any time in order to regain the Golan Heights occupied by Israel since the sixties of last centuryDestroying the chemical weapon capacity of Syria and thus having Israel remain as the only country in the region with weapons of mass destruction.Partitioning Syria into smaller entities that could be more easily controlled and that would remain in conflicts and mutual attacks (the same way as currently in Iraq). However, it may not be in favor of Israel in that it may result in an overall disturbances in the area with interference of Iran and Turkey that may result in attacks on Israel with missiles or other weapons.(Refer to the discussion area for the view point of a Shia Muslim)

What is the new name of Syria?

Which region is hotly contested by Israel and Syria?

The Golan Heights. Syria wants it because it was part of Syria from the UN partition in 1948 until Israel took control of it in the 6-day war in 1967. Israel wants to hold onto control of it because when Syria controls it, the Syrians have this nasty habit of lobbing heavy artillery from the Golan down onto the farms, kibbutzim, and towns in the valley which the Heights overlook. Realizing that somebody could potentially get hurt like that, Israel has been holding onto the region until some kind of treaty or other agreement can somehow bring some degree of safety for its citizens in the neighborhood. At that point, who knows ? The Golan could conceivably be on the table, just as the whole Sinai Peninsula ... many times the territory of the Golan ... was returned to Egypt after Egypt and Israel joined in a peace treaty.
