Hey Tony==The crank sensor is on the rear of some jeeps attached to the bell housing. It in itself won't cause overheating. If you have electric fans, make sure they are operating properly. Make sure the radiator is flowing coolant and not have a bunch of build up. Good luck Joe

On a 4.0l the crank sensor is located on the transmition. Driver side, near the top of the bellhousing at about 2 O'clock looking from the front of the truck at the engine. The wire conector is near the back of the intake (3 wire connector i have heard of a 2 wire connector instead but i have never seen it) you can follow to the crank sensor (top of tranny).

On the back of the engine, under the firewall, driver side. You can barely see it from above. You have to change it from underneath.
