∙ 14y agoI don't believe science and the Bible do contradict each other. I think the only reason some people think they do contradict is either; a) they don't understand the Bible or b) they don't understand science or c) both.

However, the general paradigm in which Evolution is taught, is one of mere random events, especially mutations.
The narrative of Divine Creation, which is contained in Genesis ch.1 and 2, states that God created the universe. This teaches us that God exists, that our lives and the world are not random, and that the created things may be assumed to contain vast wisdom in their beautiful and purposeful design. (In recent decades, this wisdom has indeed been partially revealed, through increasingly powerful microscopes.)Evolution through random mutations, on the other hand, may be understood as implying that life is an accident, that perceived beauty and wisdom are ultimately purposeless, and that our instinctive yearning for the Eternal is just an electrical impulse in our brain.
Many think that science, and specifically Evolution, have proved that there is no God. They don't comprehend that even if Evolution was an unquestionable fact, it would not automatically follow that God isn't there. They also may be unaware that there are some highly-qualified scientists who do not believe in Evolution.

Depends upon whether one believes in the scientific creation or the biblical creation. No definitive answer can be achieved as to who is right or wrong. It also depends whether you believe in a naturalistic philosophy behind the science or whether you will interpret the facts according to pure science without such philosophy. Scientific facts do not speak for themselves nor can science make conclusions about something such as the Bible which is not a scientific document (this makes no statement about whether the Bible is true or not). If science is made to contradict the Bible then it has ceased to be science but is a philosophy. Science, as such does not and cannot contradict the Bible. Separate answer: Occasionally Science and the Bible do differ, but you can see that the Bible agrees with modern Science on several interesting points! Such as Job 26:7 Which says "...the Earth which is hanging upon nothing..." this was back when people believed the Earth was on the back of a giant animal, or some type of mythological "god". (Also see Isaiah 40:22 "...circle of the Earth...") So it's plain to see that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and if something in science contradicts the Bible, I believe the Bible would always be in the right. With regard to evolution, it is generally the interpretation of Genesis as a literal, scientific document. People with a dogmatic view of The Bible are often very hostile toward science, as they believe that anything that contradicts their understanding of the Bible must be false, even if it has been proven scientifically. Having said that, I have nothing against fundamentalists.
