• Since you have chosen a 1920's theme for a wedding shower then you should have the guests come dressed in 1920's costumes. There were 'flappers' (the wild girls of the 20's); to the more demure 1920's girl next door who wore high laced necklines and long skirted dresses (that hung from the hip) with shoe that had a heal on it and buttons. Cradles were used during those times for babies. You could borrow a cradle to put the gifts in or rent one. Foods to be served from the 1920's would be small Sandwiches and cakes along with tea (but coffee is acceptable also or Alcoholic Beverages.) On the table should be a lace tablecloth (can be rented) with dainty tea cups and of course plates. Rent or find a very ornate high fluted vase and put a garden medley of flowers in it (can be roses.) Potted ferns were very popular during this era and you could rent silk potted ferns and place just around the area the bride-to-be will be seated. High backed chairs were in style during the 1920's or if you need too you can use a rocker. If you really want to have fun then try renting an antique car to pick up the bride-to-be along with her mother and perhaps her future mother-in-law. Be sure you have a camera ready and ask a friend to have a back-up camera and take pictures as well.
