120/80 or lower is considered normal upper limit but 120/80 may be considered high depending what is normal for you. For example, if your blood pressure has been running 108/66 and is starts staying 120/80, that is a sign something has changed and you needs to take action.

A normal blood pressure is 120/80 for a 55 year old woman or a 25 year old man. A normal blood pressure for adults is unrelated to age. Old criteria of 140/90, the upper limit of normal or what is considered hypertension, and that upper limit being normal for older people is wrong. Untreated, hypertension leads to renal failure. Treated, hypertension is controlled, and when controlled, allows one to prevent renal failure. Want to live past 50, get your blood pressure under 130/80 and avoid getting Diabetes. Got diabetes? Blood pressure control is even more important and stopping those treats critical.
