Well it's a discussion with your doctor, it's actually quite simple. The piercings can be kept, you just need to remove the jewellery from the piercing the day you go in for the surgery. Once you have cleared surgery and recovery and have received the OK. from your doctor you can put the jewellery back into the piercings.
The best bet it to make arrangements with your local body piercing studio, drop the jewellery off and have them autoclave the jewellery. This way when you are ready to put the jewellery back in everything will be clean and the jewellery will be sterile. The piercings won't close that fast you should be able to get 2~4 days without the jewellery in place.
If you have trouble getting the jewellery back in just see your local body piercing studio to have the piercings tapered open and the jewellery put in. easy breezy. I have provided this service for a few of my clients and they have had no issue what so ever.

Am I going to have sun burn on them or not? You can use lotions around the piercing. Just not directly in the piercing. Make sure to rub it in completely too. The sports kinds are best because they wont run when you sweat so theres less of a chance that it'll run into the piercing.
