I know that even the thought of going through preterm labor is a terrifying one, at 30 weeks of gestation, your baby has very good outcome ratio. The sickest and smallest preemies are born as early as 23 weeks of gestation and they are the ones exposed to many, many hurdles until they reach 40 weeks, or full term.
I do not know the reason behind your worries, if they have been confirmed by a medical professional or if they are worries associated with some symptoms you are currently experiencing. My baby was born at 24 weeks of gestation due to incompetent cervix and premature rupture of membranes also known as PROM, and delivered via Cesarean. After some respiratory complications and many months of ICN care, he is now 6 months old and does not have any complications from his prematurity.
If you do go into labor 30 weeks into your pregnancy, be prepared for some hospitalization time for your baby. Also remember that every week you are still pregnant counts.
In general, over 95% of babies born between week 30-33 of gestation grow to be perfectly healthy children. The ones that are at risk are babies born with certain abnormalities in the vital organs, kidneys, liver, etc. The hospital stay is typically between 6-8 weeks depending on how your baby is growing and developing. Although like with every baby born prematurely the risk of developing complications is higher than the percentage of the same risk in full term babies, at 30 weeks of gestation your baby has very good chances of overcoming his prematurity faster than younger preemies.
eeh.. my doctor said the same thing when i was pregnant with my daughter. I went into preterm at 26 weeks, they stopped it, then at 36 weeks i started dialating. i was 50% and 1 cm.but i stayed that way from 36 weeks to 41.1 weeks.good luck :O)
LABOUR
Vinegar will not induce labor. Please don't think about inducing pre-term labor. There's a reason why elective inductions before 38 weeks are such a controversy now. Contact your prenatal health care provider to discuss your concerns and the reasons that you want to go into labor preterm.
You can cause yourself to go into preterm labor is you take Castor Oil before you are 30 weeks pregnant. It is suggested that you do not drink this while you are pregnant.
You shouldn't. If the pregnancy is healthy, let labor come on its own.
AT 3 cm dilated, you can be placed on bed rest. I was placed on bed rest at 32 weeks and 6 days to prevent me from going into preterm labor.
Betamethasone is not used IN preterm labor...once your labor has been stabilized, betamethasone is given in two shots 24 hours apart so that you baby gets a "jump start" on producing surfactant in their lungs. Surfactant is what gives the lungs lubrication - for the aveoli to expand. I had betamethasone injections with two of my children. My first child, I went into labor at 24 weeks; multiple medications to hold her to final delivery date of 31 weeks. No medical problems whatsoever!! My second child, I went into labor at 26 weeks , several shots of brethine to hold him off and delivered at 38 weeks (9pounds 1 oz) perfectly fine. My sister delivered her first two both at 36 weeks with uncomplicated pregnancies - no betamethasone - both had respiratory complications and spent weeks in the NICU.
You might go into preterm labor. Not too serious for the baby at this stage, but get it treated as it may go up to your kidneys which could be serious for you.
A baby born before 37 weeks gestation
Do you know you are pregnant now, have you had a positive test? Aslong as it is just spotting you are probably ok. This is what doctors are for, to tell you what is happening. You cannot miscarry at 3 weeks as you would not even know you are pregnant. If you miscarried 3 weeks after conception that is 5 weeks pregnant not 3 weeks.
Yes, there are babies who die this late. If you go into labor it's premature labor though and not miscarriage.
Yes, they will give you a large dose of magnesium which works as a muscle relaxer to stop your labor, then they will give you a smaller continuous dose to prevent you from going back into labor. I was 30 weeks pregnant, 3cm dilated and 80% effaced and they were very successful in stopping my labor.
