People in a community are helpful, and are team workers.
Diaspora describes a world community of people with a common homeland.
Society is a word used to describe an over all general population of people in a pretty widely established area of space. Its a word used to generalize all people in a region. I would use and example such as American society would represent all of the people who live in America whilst a community would be a word to describe a more local knowledge. A community is more a group of people who live in a town, a condo complex, or even a large business building. Communities have members and are more leaned towards individuality. A random example would be a society votes for a President while a community votes for a local court judge.
A community is a group of people who live in the same general area. Communities are typically small enough to where most people in the community know who everyone else is.

The cultural diversity of the people who live in my community can be seen as a melting pot of diverse food, languages and a sense of family and family heritage.
