How was Hitler good?

Hitler Killed the Jews because he claimed that they caused the economic failure in Germany. By doing this, Hitler through Germany even further into economic turmoil. Hitler was a failure.

One can argue his efforts to build war winning weapons led to the development of rocketry, jets, swept wing design.

Many of Hitler's so-called "achievements", such as those mentioned in answer 2, came about at the expense of many innocent lives. It is important that people never forget that more than 6,000,000 Jews died at the hands of the Nazis, not to mention many more who were killed by the Nazis because they were deemed sub-human (gays, Slavs, disabled), or were opposed to Hitler. Then there is the matter of all the 100s of 1000s of innocent casualties of war who died during the Nazi regime's indescriminate terror-bombing campaigns and the soldiers who died fighting against Hitler and indeed those fighting for Hitler. As a result of Hitler's magalomania millions of people suffered and died. So no matter what technilogical advances we now have as a result of his war-mongering, I don't think any sane person could argue that Hitler was good.

If you mean why/how was he successful

Hitler was a fantastic orator: his 'set piece' rallies at Nuremburg were organised to guarantee some of the largest audiences ever.

Clearly he was very persuasive on a one to one level. He managed to impress many opinion formers eg the British Prince of Wales. He was also a very accomplished liar- governments kept believing him when he promised that he would not invade Poland/Czechoslovakia.

He was also one of the first leaders to understand the power of film as Propaganda. Any of Leni Rifenstahl's films/photographs show this very well.

He also gave the Germans back their self belief & confidence; both of which had hit rock bottom following the loss of the First World War & then the hyper inflation disaster that was the Weimar Republic.

It is not generally known that Hitler was also vegetarian....
