Yes, 40mg of Strattera is a lot to start out with because you're body may not be able to handle that big of a dosage. I'm no doctor, but I've been on Strattera now for a week and my dosage is 18mg, and it makes me feel ugh! If 18mg is a lot, then of course 40mg is a lot to start out with. I hope this somewhat makes sense and helps. Its one of the stronger amounts but I don't think its A LOT. Im starting at 40 and tomorrow I start taking 80 so clearly it cant be too bad if im doubling it

I think it depends on the starting dose. I started at 40 mg. for 3 days, then went to 60 for 3 days and then to 80. This is what I am currently taking and have been for about a month.
I am on a high off label dose of Strattera it has worked but I am having further attention issues and need to go further up, but you can only go up so far I think… but are there people on 200-300 plus mg of Strattera?

I wasn't necessarily depressed, just stressed. After about a week everything started to calm down.
