Street view photos are updated on an ongoing basis but general plan is to include more and more cities than keep any given city's photos current. More cities are added every day.

∙ 10y agoGoogle continuously adds new areas to Street View as well updating existing areas all of which become available to both Google Maps and Google Earth users.
Typically major cities and popular sites will be updated first before the rural and countryside so some areas may be as old as 3 years old or older.
Google doesn't provide advance notice when it will update an area, but it now shows a list of cities by country where the Google vehicles are currently driving.

In June 2011 Google made the largest update to Street View imagery to-date which updated/added to 13 countries that already had some degree of Street View imagery, including Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

I found a uncharted island on Google earth and the next day it was coverd up?
Either you are making this up, or there is a scam going on. My guess, you are just aching for attention so you are making this all up, if you have some proof, then okay, but you don't plus Google Earth doesn't update that often.
How do you update Google Maps?
In 2006 Google Maps was updated to use the same satellite image database as Google Earth. Before that Google had to update and process imagery for both Google Earth and Google Maps where the maps where often out of sync with each other. Now Google updates its central map & imagery database and the updates are made available to both Google Earth and Google Maps at once. The time between getting imagery from satellite and seeing it on Google Maps is far from real-time. Once the imagery is taken by satellite, it takes time to process the data by a commercial provider like GeoEye before it is available to Google and other customers. Google will do additional processing to convert imagery into the format and coordinate system of its internal databases. This is one reason you normally won't find any imagery younger than about 6 months. For these reasons, the Google map & imagery database is updated once or twice a month.

How can I get a Street View image for the day before?
Google's Street View imagery is typically no newer than 6 months and often older. Because of the high quality of the imagery many people think the imagery is "real-time". For the day before you'd need to look at ATMs, banks, stores, etc. near the location that have surveillance cameras but most look inside rather than the street and also it's not common to get access to such security footage unless police or court order are involved.

Google Earth should automatically prompt you to update, whether it be through the app stores or not, when a newer and updated version is up. If this doesn't happen you may have to allow for this to prompt you to update when there is a new version out or to simply check back every so often to see if it needs an update.
