Over the last twenty years, the United States has phased out direct economic aid the Isreal, replacing it by other grants, particulary military aid. In 2009, over three billion dollars are estimated to have been provided in cash, as military aid. $30 million was also provided to Israel for migrant and refugee assistance. An additional $333 million in loan guarantees were also provided. $3.9 million were provided to various Israeli institutions by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

For FY2011, the Administration has once again requested $3 billion in Foreign Military Financing (FMF) to Israel.
