How much is Chick-Fil-A operator's average salary?

After six weeks of paid training, the operator is in business with a guaranteed salary of $30,000 a year, plus half of net profits after 15 percent of gross sales goes to Chick-fil-A, Inc. The average operator of a freestanding unit (FSU) can expect to make anywhere from $180,000-$225,000. Mall Unit operators can expect anywhere from $40,000 to over $120,000. Multi-unit operators make substantially more. The average FSU has annual unit sales of around $3,000,000. Chick-fil-A hand picks their operators, about 75 per year, from over 20,000 notices of interest per year. That's less than .05%. You have a better chance of getting an MBA at Harvard University. They choose about 35% form outside the company with 65% coming from within. Of that 65%, about 35% come from their interim manager program. Also do not expect to be chosen if you are not a perfect candidate. If you have one financial or personal blemish you will not be chosen, period. Check your credit report and public records for anything negative because it will disqualify you and you can save you're time. So do not even start working for them thinking you can work your way into an operator position if you are not perfect. You do need a college degree. They say character matters but only if its negative and part of the public record. And do sign up for some outside civic activities to show your involved in the community, even if you quit after your selected. Once you're selected as an operator you're set for life unless you run the store into the ground (pretty hard to do) or try to open on a Sunday. It helps tremendously if you have a parent or sibling already running a Chick-fil-A store, that's just about a guarantee you will get one, whether you're qualified or not. If you're an outside candidate, Chick-fil-A prefers retired military officers or extremely successful business people (retired or active). Candidates that can use some help getting back on their feet do not expect a hand up from Chick-fil-A in the operator selection process.
