TLC cancelled the show. Apparently, TLC allowed Matt Roloff to 'spin' the news how he pleased, however reports have it that the ratings dropped. It must have been a surprise to Matt as he said in July of this year that he expected "at least 2 more years."
The Duggar children are not individually paid by TLC for each episode. TLC hands the family (i.e. Jim Bob) a check for each episode, and it's up to Jim Bob to divide the money however he chooses, if he divides it at all.

I don't think TLC bought the land but they money they give the Goesslin family for having their show definitely bought it. Their new house is rumored to cost 1.3mil and they get anywhere from $45K to $55K per episode. See Related Questions for additional information.
