Answer . They are driven by a CDL licensed individual and with various mechanically operated aids, remove garbage and take it to a dumping facility.
Generally it depends on the type of truck. But If you are talking about a tractor trailer combination, Generally a dual tandem axle tractor connected to a 48 ft. or 53 ft.… trailer ( most common sizes ). the total Gross Vehicle weight fully loaded cannot be more than 80,000 Lbs . on U.S. highways. Their are trucks that can pull more weight but they are specialized to carry more weight and generally need a special permit and a police escort to drive on U.S. highways, but The most commonly used tractor trailers are as stated above far as sizes go, whether they are flatbeds, dry box, "reefers" (refrigerated units), Tankers, or shipping containers. All 80,000 LBS. total truck weight to drive legally without a permit and a police escort on US highways. Hope this helps a little ;)
500 000 a day
The amount of material a garbage truck holds, depends on the sizeof the truck. A typical garbage truck, however, holds about ninetons of garbage.Ã
Depends on the type of truck (whether its a dual tandem or a tri-axle) but most US trucks average between 9 - 11 yards.
Depends on the actual capacity of the body, manufacturer of the body, condition of the hydraulic pump, compressibility of the load (bulky items such as couches and wood do not… compress). Average body sizes range from about15 to 32 cubic yards. The truck I drive is a 2005 Mack LE600 with a McNeilus 32 cubic yard packing body and I average weights ranging from 14.5 tons (multiple bulky items) to 18 tons (little or no bulky items). The most weight I have put on this truck in one shot is 21.74 tons.
it depends on how big the truck is
It depends on the type of garbage truck. Roll-offs are around $130,000.00 and Front-load which dump the dumpsters are $225,000.00 to $235,000.00.
Depends how compact-able the garbage is.
You'll be hard pressed to find a Mack that burns gasoline. They are mainly diesel powered. Typical tank sizes range from 50 to 100 gallons.
I pay around about $1000 to $5000 a week.
Once emptied into the hopper a blade comes down and compacts the garbage into the other garbage removing all air space and compressing it flat once truck is full which takes a…bout 350 homes in my truck yes im a female trash girl it is emptied at the transfer station and it is compacted again into a big trailer and hauled to landfill where it is finally and i think the besst compacting is done by a 110,000 pound spiked compactor this thing drives over a pile of garbage and smashes it 2-3 feet into the ground before i drove one i had no idea what happened to my garbage its not pretty
Depends on the specifications of the collection trucks, as well as the dimensions of the trailer, and tare weight of the vehicle. Weight wise, a transfer truck, at best, could… legally haul the weight of the payload of three tandem axle collection trucks - collection trucks are quite heavy, so transfer trailers often are, as well.
