You Need to complete an open water course from your local dice shop. This consists of a classroom portion where you learn safety and other things. A pool portion where you apply these things in a safe environment. And an open water dive section where you are tested on what you were taught. After completing this you will be given a c card this will allow you to buy Scuba equipment air refills and go on dive trips. Also you can only dive 60 ft. Completing a deep sea diving course will give you 130 ft. This is the limit for recreational divers anything deeper and you may pass out or worse from the pressurized nitrogen in your tank

∙ 14y agoMany dive shops offer a two day program for the classroom and pool sessions, followed by a four dives done over two additional days. So the short answer is that you can become a certified scuba diver in four (sometimes less) days. How many years does it take to become a GOOD scuba diver, I'll leave for someone else to answer. Like anything, a good teacher and plenty of practice can bring you safely to that goal.

∙ 13y agoDive training usually involves classroom based training about the theory and also practical sessions in the water to help show you the kit and how it all works and develop your in-water skills.
Theory may include topics such as dive planning, use of dive kit, first aid etc.
Organisations such as BSAC, PADI or SSI will have more detailed curiculum so you could check their websites.

Its not really scuba diving but its considered scuba diving. Also known as the hookah system. its when you have a gas powered motor pumping fresh air to the person or person's diving below, there can be up to four people diving off of one hookah system. the benefit of this system is that there is no decompression time and you can be underwater pretty much all day if someone fills the gas tank on the engine pumping air. but you are kinda tied down to something so i don't think its true scuba diving.
