How many years after Adam and Eve were created was Jesus born?

The Bible doesn't specify how many years passed between the creation of Adam and Eve and the birth of Jesus Christ [d. around A.D. 30]. But James Us[s]her [January 4, 1581-March 21, 1656] after examining the Biblical genealogical record placed the date of the Creation on the night before October 23, 4004 B.C. According to modern thought, Jesus of Nazareth was born sometime between 7 and 4 B.C. So that would put about 4,000 years between the lifetimes of Adam and Eve, and the existence of Jesus Christ.

Additional Comments:

The Bible clearly says that God took 6 days, 6 evenings and 6 mornings, see (Genesis 1:2) for His creative process. Therefore, Usher's date must be close. There are many scientists who do advocate for a young earth today (see Creation Research Institute or Answers in Genesis for further information). It has only been in recent history that the scientific community has been advocating for the creation of the earth to be billions of years.

Matthew 1:17 has the answer and it reads 42 generations from Christ to Adam which should help (most consider a generation to be between 25-100 years).

The Biblical answer is Christ was born in the flesh in the middle of the 2nd week.

There are two weeks to complete this 2nd of 3 reiterations of earth (2nd Peter chapter 3)

Each day of the two weeks of this earth age are 1000 man years in length (2nd Peter ch 3).

Christ walked this earth in the flesh 4000 years (4 days) after Adam was formed as the man to till the soil (Genesis 2) from 6th day creation.

You are now on the 6th day of the 2nd week.

Christ will reign for one day (1000 years) to complete the 7th day (Revelation 20), of the 2nd week.

Then comes judgment according to your works (Revelation 20)
