There are several scriptures that use the word vision. Some visions were actually direction individuals were given from God in doing his will, and some involved prophecy - either interpretation of events or foretelling future events.

Here are a few:

(Exodus 24:11) 11 And he did not put out his hand against the distinguished men of the sons of Israel, but they got a vision of the [true] God and ate and drank.

(Numbers 8:3, 4) . . .. 4 Now this was the workmanship of the lampstand. It was hammered work of gold. Up to its sides and up to its blossoms it was hammered work. According to the vision that Jehovah had shown Moses, so he had made the lampstand.

(Numbers 12:6) 6 And he went on to say: "Hear my words, please. If there came to be a prophet of YOURS for Jehovah, it would be in a vision I would make myself known to him. In a dream I would speak to him. . .

(Isaiah 1:1) 1 The vision of Isaiah the son of A′moz that he visioned concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uz·zi′ah, Jo′tham, A′haz [and] Hez·e·ki′ah, kings of Judah:

(Ezekiel 7:12, 13) . . .. 13 For to what was sold the seller himself will not return, while their life is yet among the living ones; for the vision is for all its crowd. No one will return, and they will not possess themselves each one of his own life by his own error.

(Daniel 2:19) 19 Then it was that to Daniel in a night vision the secret was revealed. Consequently Daniel himself blessed the God of heaven.

(Acts 1:9) 9 And after he had said these things, while they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision.

(Revelation 9:16, 17) 16 And the number of the armies of cavalry was two myriads of myriads: I heard the number of them. 17 And this is how I saw the horses in the vision, and those seated on them: they had fire-red and hyacinth-blue and sulphur-yellow breastplates; and the heads of the horses were as heads of lions, and out of their mouths fire and smoke and sulphur issued forth.
