Per my Taste of Home Cookbook, 1 package or envelope of dry active yeast is equal to 2-1/4 teaspoons. Happy baking!

It is 2 1/4 teaspoons. I have been baking breads and buns using recipes that call for "one package" of yeast and I have always put 2 1/4 teaspoons. It has always been great for me!

A package. -Who knows what a "package" is, certainly not an official measure. We would have to know some figure, ounces, grams etc from the "package" to estimate teaspoons for this.

Yeast is typically used to bake certain types of bread and Pizza bases. A typical individual package of yeast has 7 grams in it. This is equivalent to almost 1.5 teaspoons.
